Ha ha

$60? Bloody hell!  I am in the wrong business!  I am starting up a small building design business and at present I have to deal with the vagaries of microsoft excel, and troublesome clients who can't make up their minds, when I could just tell fat fingers to eat less and exercise for a more!

Want to design my new house?  Cool

Mate if the guy knows what hes on about you could have 1 session with him or 200 with a shit personal trainer at a gym that charges $50-$60 an hour and you'd get so much more from that 1 hour so I wouldn't stress about what everyone's sayin  Tongue

Hey mate, Ive never taken advice from a pt in my life. When I was a begginer I just stuck to forums like this and asked a ton of questions. Ive been training in my 'educated state' or 'serious' for about 3 years now. I started out weight under 70kgs, now Im 112kgs... My advice is just get in the gym and do some trial and error. Work stuff out for yourself. Doing this will make you undertand what your doing instead of just following $60 an hour orders. This way you will learn what works best for you.

I don't know why you are all hating on PT's. Agreeded there are some shit ones out there but there are also some damned good ones. Granted some don't know what there are doing and i've been trained by a few myself but who has all the answers anyway. If we all had the answers not to mention the dedication we'd all be Mr O's wouldn't we? What PT's get taught works, but it's up to the individual to give the right level of dedication to achieve, and when  people simply don't do this its the trainers fault come on people!!!. I'm always learning and i have produced great results by myself but also with the advice of trainers. Bodybuilding in particular is a complex task, so many elements have to work together before it works, maybe we need to look elsewhere before the poor PT gets the blame. My diet could always be better, so could my training. By the way I'm PT, cheers Grin

Nothing can make up for poor nutrition, do yourself a favour and set out a proper diet and stick with it.

Well said...

I work with a bunch of geeks who always get PT sessions and when i ask them about it not one of them EVER EVER got a single piece of advice about what they eat and what they should stick to.

Pasta, meat and veggies is a good bodybuilding meal I guess you'd say but when you break down a full day of what you eat you will probably see a lot of things you could do better or change.

If you post up your current diet we'll definitely be able to help you out with it. Some of us might have differing opinions but you can look into the things we disagree on and make a decision for yourself for what you think is best.
